I read the first issue of Daken and thought it was pretty good, but unfortunately Marvel has me too thinly spread to afford many of the lesser-known, but better written books. I heard X-23 was pretty good too, but the cover to the first issue was a huge turn-off. Maybe comixology will have a sale and I can pick all of these up for a buck a piece.
Nice new look to the blog, by the way. Very impressive. I'm jealous!

I didn't keep this after the #1's came out. The costume design for Wonder Girl was interesting, but that was about it. I agree on the Solstice character. Is her personality dark now as well? She was a pretty vibrant character in the Wonder Girl One Shot I read that introduced her.

mmm Bird Of Prey has already some connections with current Snyder's Court of Owls storyline in Batman, I haven't see Terrific interacting with other characters but Q-Core is mentioned (Green Arrow's company) and Helena is portrayed as Bertinelli in the miniseries, plus when she arrives to Italy she says "I'm back home" so that confirms that she has connections with Italy and the Mafia.

But since Mr T. is playing in the nine dimension and stuff like that he can accidentally fall in earth two in some way.

I think that the Bird of Prey is mentioned because Huntres will end in that team.

For the past four months, I've been trying to grasp my thoughts about what's missing from The New 52. Your post pretty much nails it on the head. Similiar to you, I'd spend $100+ monthly collecting 30+ titles. Now I'm down to 20 and those are dropping as the weeks go by. I'll probably be down to 10 or less by February. Need to send DC a thank you card for helping save money, along with a condolence card for "burying" my friends from years prior.

I enjoyed the new WW. I've not read much of her in the past so just have an image of her being a bit cheesy. But this new, dark interpretation worked for me.

But then I'm really enjoying a lot of the new darker DC titles: Justice League Dark (great art, great storytelling), Resurrection Man, Animal Man and Swamp Thing. Even Demon Knights (although that is only slightly dark and a little comedic).

It's a brave move on the part of the publisher to reboot their entire line. Speaking only for myself, the new WW seems intriguing and, as such, I shall follow it for a little while at least.

Ditto. I loved this book and it was the first New 52 I read. I feel that DC put all of the best talent on the B and C list character books. I like it. That way, they will continue to sell those books, and people aren't going to NOT buy Green Lantern and Batman books, so assign the lesser talent to those. I'm not saying that Geoff Johns is lesser talent, but I haven't heard any praise for his relaunch stuff.

Unfortunately, a LOT (if not all) of the new DC comics will feel circa 1990s because Jim Lee is one of the top execs now of DC and he's apparently stuck in the 90s with that costume look and feel, lack of storylines, big-breasted tiny-waisted women, and men with unnaturally bulging biceps. See: his 1990s Marvel Comics run and, of course, as you stated, his 1990s Image Comics run. The sad thing is that the 1990s are when the quality of comics were on a downward slope, so why return to that dismal period?
